Hanover Psychiatry offers psychotherapy to help people gain better control over their use of substances and other addictive behaviors, with the goal of minimizing the disruptive impact that addictive behaviors can have on one’s health, happiness, and relationships. If you are someone you love are struggling with drugs of abuse, gambling, compulsive sexual behaviors, and overeating, we can help. Treatment is informed by a variety of approaches including motivation enhancement therapy, relapse prevention, 12 step, mindful recovery, harm reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy.
We also offer psychological evaluations for legal purposes, to determine if someone has a substance use disorder and the role of substance use in legal charges.
Consultation with a psychologist is available to those who may have concerns about a loved one who is not yet ready to change.
